cPanel is the control panel for your shared hosting account at Domain & Host. From one place you can manage files, create email accounts, install applications, and review resource usage.
How to log in
- Open the cPanel URL from your welcome email (often
https://your-server-hostname:2083or a branded login link). - Enter the cPanel username and password we sent when the account was provisioned.
- If login fails, confirm you are using the cPanel password — not your Domain & Host client-area password.
You can also reset or request credentials from your client area or by contacting support.
Tools you will use most
- File Manager — upload website files and edit configuration.
- Email Accounts — create addresses such as
[email protected]. - Softaculous / WordPress (if enabled) — one-click app installs.
- SSL/TLS Status — check HTTPS certificates.
- Metrics — disk and bandwidth usage.
First-day checklist
- Change the temporary cPanel password to something only your team knows.
- Confirm your domain is assigned to the account.
- Create at least one business email mailbox.
- Install your CMS or upload your site files.
- Verify the site loads over HTTPS.
Security tips
- Never share full cPanel access with freelancers unless you trust them; create limited FTP users when possible.
- Keep WordPress and plugins updated after install.
- Enable two-factor authentication in cPanel if the option is available on your plan.
